wool, 50% silk blend. The online shop carries both the solid colors and hand-dyed
colors. Impressions has a silky sheen, especially when
used with long, flat stitches. Separate the plies and use one or
more in the needle according to the pattern directions. One ply is
about the same weight as a #5 pearl cotton or six plies of cotton floss
or one ply of Persian wool or DMC Medicis wool.
Use for all forms of needlework. For needlepoint use one ply on 18 to 24 count, two plies on 14 -13 count canvas and for cross stitch on 11 - 20 count fabric. 36 yard skeins, solid colors are $4.15 (US) each. 36 yard skeins, hand-dyed colors are $4.75 (US) each. Not sure how much to order. Order extra! Once a dye-lot is gone for a color it can never be matched and there is variation between dye-lots. If you do not see the color you want, please email the shop. It can be ordered for you. |
